After you have passed your final examinations, you receive the official notice of degree award (Bescheid über die Verleihung eines akademischen Grades) from your Faculty's StudiesServiceCenter. It will take some time (up to four weeks) for your documents to be processed and issued. Your StudiesServiceCenter (SSC) will notify you as soon as the graduation documents have been issued and can be collected. You can register via the registration system for a graduation ceremony only after you have received your official notice of degree award (Verleihungsbescheid), which must be legally valid.

Log in using your university log-in details. Select the tab “Akademische Feier" (Graduation ceremonies) or “Urkundenbestellung" (Certificate order). Now, select the academic degree for which you would like to participate in a graduation ceremony. The registration system will only display graduation ceremonies for which you are eligible to participate.

Please select a date and complete all required fields. Use the “comments” field to provide additional information regarding, for example, the spelling of your name or if you want to receive your graduation certificate by post (when ordering a certificate), etc.

Next, you can complete your payment via MasterCard, direct banking or Visa.

As soon as your payment has been made, your registration for the graduation ceremony is complete and you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

You can register, de-register or change your registration (if there are still spots available) until 2 weeks before the graduation ceremony.

After you have selected your desired date, you can find the graduation ceremony in your cart. To complete your registration, you have to pay the outstanding fee via MasterCard, direct banking or Visa. To do so, click “ zu Kasse gehen" (proceed to checkout).

Your registration for a date will be confirmed as soon as you have paid the fee.

As soon as you have completed the payment, you will receive an e-mail confirming that you have successfully registered for the graduation ceremony. You can view your booking under “gebuchte Veranstaltungen" (Booked events) and/or under “Konto - Meine Veranstaltungen” (account - my events; status: “angemeldet"/registered). Moreover, under “Bestellung ansehen" (View my order), you can view all details and print the order confirmation.
